In a world of forlorn hearts, the art of internet dating has arrived at Foggy Valley. LampLight Theatre’s favorite comedy troupe is back once more in the hilarious production of “Foggy Went a Courtin’”.

Some of the Goodin Family and friends have found themselves a part of the lonely hearts club in search of true love and romance. Since newlyweds, Clovis and Ura, have celebrated their blissful first year anniversary, they take it upon themselves to help all the singles of the Foggy Valley Gang find their true love. Prompted by the expertise of family friend, Luella Simpson, the couple help create to seek out potential mates for their family and friends. In desperation of finding love, the Foggy Valley Gang members slightly fabricate their profiles.

The B.A. Goodin Funeral Parlor is transformed into a “dating parlor” for an evening of blind-courting. Needless to say, mayhem and chaos break out. Due to his embittered heart, Cousin Nydifer Blair evokes pandemonium when he hacks into the website and matches the Foggy Valley Gang with the most zany, outlandish potential mates. A genteel polygamist, a quiet lady with “Christian” tourettes, and a stern Russian Spinster are among the wacky candidates that end up at the front door on date night. Unbeknownst to the blindfolded family members, Ura and Clovis try behind the scenes to untangle the mess and redeem the madness.

Could this be the end of romance for family friend, Rev. Clyde, and longtime devotee, Clementine Hogg as they seek to find true love in the arms of someone else? Will Spoolie Goodin find a woman to replace his wife of yesteryear? Will Mama Goodin find someone who will love her for who she’s not? Can Cleopha find a man whose back is strong enough to sweep her off her feet? Love is in the air, but so is deceit. Hearts will be broken and lives will be changed when the truth is exposed in the end.

“Foggy Went a Courtin’”will be presented every weekend, September 1st through 24th, at LampLight Theatre at 140 Broad Street in Kingsport, TN. Nightly performances will be at 7:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, Matinees on Saturdays at 2:00 p.m. and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. A special dinner is available on Saturday, September 23rd at 5:00pm.
