A Family Mountain Celebration and Down-Home Jamboree

Fall season is upon us and what better way to celebrate than at LampLight Theatre’s Fall FolkFest.  Come and usher in the fall season as we celebrate the mountain heritage of east Tennessee and southwest Virginia.  On Saturday, September 25, revisit the old days and enjoy local traditions at LampLight Theatre in Fall Branch, TN.

The last Saturday of this month, Arts and Crafts booths will be set up by local artists and churches.  Candles, jewelry, wreaths and seasonal handmade crafts will be for sale.  There are still some spaces opened for individuals or groups wishing to sell their wares.  If you are interested in auctions, some antique furniture and farm equipment will be auctioned off as well as vacation getaways.

All day long, good “vittles” will be on hand.  Vendors will be selling home-cooked food including pinto beans, corn on the cob, cornbread and fried apple pies.  You can even take a turn at stirring homemade apple butter for our Apple Butter Stir-off.  Make sure you bring a good appetite with you.

Entertainment for all ages will be going on all day as well.   Live bluegrass and folk music will be performed by local musicians on our outdoor stage. Pocket Full of Seeds and Driven by Truth will be performing shows inside the theatre for those “young at heart.”  For animal lovers, there will be a “Mountain Critters” petting zoo and a hayride to boot.

Games will also be offered for the children and adults.  The little ones can compete in sack races, bean bag tosses, and water melon see spittin’ contests.  Adults will be able to try out their own skills.  If you have a good arm at throwing horseshoes, you might take home a trophy.

LampLight Theatre Fall “FolkFest” runs from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM on Saturday, September 25.  The admission for the all-day festival is FREE.

The day will conclude with a performance in the theatre at 7:00 PM with Down-home Jamboree: “Old Time Gospel Sing” featuring Tattered Saints and Friends.  This performance is done in true “Gaither Homecoming” sing-a-long fashion with old gospel favorites, southern gospel and shape note singing.  Suggested donation for evening performance is $8 Adults, $5 Students, and FREE for children under 5. Tickets will also be available throughout the day at FolkFest or can be purchased at the door.  Doors will open at 6:00 PM promptly following the closing of the FolkFest events. Reservations are suggested and can be made by calling the LampLight box office at (423) 348-7610, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or click here.
